for quickers
Oct. 19th, 2024 10:48 pmIt was probably not her smartest move, inviting a guy she'd literally just met hours before over to watch a movie, but Evie tended to trust her gut and it was very rare that it was wrong. Pietro had been amusing and easy to talk to from the start, especially when discussing the finer points of early slasher films and why teenagers bring their demise on themselves, and she wanted more time with him.
That in itself was pretty rare. As outgoing as Evie was, she liked her solitude. Just her and her red heeler, Gremlin, enjoying life in the small one bedroom house she was renting.
But Pietro...she easily saw herself spending more time with him.
So now, she was waiting on the porch of her house for two things:
One: The mess of chinese food she'd ordered and
Two: Pietro himself.
She had Gremlin beside her, the three year old red heeler glancing up at Evie, fully aware of the strangeness in Evie's behavior and very curious as to why Evie smelled nervous.
At the sound of a strange voice calling Evie's name, both Evie and Gremlin looked up and for once? Gremlin was wagging her tail. It might have been the shift in Evie's demeanor, from anxious to happy, that has Gremlin in a good mood.
Even Evie's noticed.
"She's usually not a fan of strangers," Evie says, both amused and...well, acting as a sort of heads up. But then Pietro gets Evie's best grin as she heads down the steps to greet him.
